Artrageous! 2005Artrageous History Real Estate Team
ROCKLIN'S ANNUAL ARTRAGEOUS EVENT
Chalk Art ExhibitionArtrageous ' How did it begin?ROCKLIN, CA, Sept 2003. Stewart Ventures Real Estate Team proudly presented the area's new 'must-see' event: Artrageous. This unique event attracts young and old from all walks of life. The Artrageous vision brings dozens of local and regional artists to the public square in support of the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) programs of the Rocklin Unified School District. September 2004 brought even more amazing chalk art and great sponsorship to Artrageous. The donations from these sponsors helped to provide resources for classes from musical theater to basic art.
Artrageous features professional artists and student artists from area schools, including Rocklin High School and Sierra College. The artists use pastel chalk to create colorful 'artrageous' art on newly paved blacktop. Each artist will apply talent and imagination on asphalt squares. For the past two years Artrageous has been featured at the Hot Chili & Cool Cars event, one of the major community attractions of the year.
'We wanted to bring this outstanding art form to Rocklin and are pleased to be able to work with the Hot Chili & Cool Cars event,' said Matthew Stewart, owner of Stewart Ventures Real Estate Team. 'We also saw a great opportunity to raise money for Rocklin Unified School District's VAPA programs while giving businesses an opportunity to sponsor work by the artists.'
In addition to the professional art, Artrageous features 'The Kids' Zone,' an area for children to create their own masterpieces on the street. Each child receives a 2x2 foot square to design, just like the pros! Each aspiring artist receives their own mini pastel kit for creating unique art, and a framed photo of the completed artwork. An exclusive pizza party awards ceremony is held to present these framed keepsakes.
'We're pleased to add Artrageous to what has become a premier event in Rocklin for families, including great chili, music, classic cars, and activities for children,' said David Brockway, 2003 president elect of the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce. 'This is such a wonderful way to entertain families, local business people, and individuals, and to raise money for community groups at the same time.'
In December 2003, Matthew Stewart, President of Stewart Ventures Real Estate Team, was proud to present a check in the amount of $4,436.86 to the Rocklin Unified School District. 2004 brought in an amazing $10,000 that went directly to VAPA programs. And, this year we plan to exceed last year's mark!
